Dear Instructors,

Spring 2023 grade rosters are now available. If you have not done so already, please take a moment to verify your Class and Grade Roster in the Student Information System (SIS). Here are some important guidelines and resources to assist you with reviewing your grade roster and submitting final grades. 

How do I verify my class and grade roster? 
    

Class and grade rosters should be verified in SIS, not UVACollab. For instructions, visit the ITS SIS For Instructors: Grading in SIS website.  

If there is a discrepancy between the class and grade roster or if you have specific student concerns, please contact your school registrar for assistance. School contact information is available on the University Registrar's website.


How do I submit final grades in SIS or UVACollab?
 

Primary Instructors can submit their final grades using SIS or UVACollab. Please note: If you are not the primary instructor for a course, you may have the capability to enter grades, but you may not have the access to approve and submit final grades; this role is reserved for the Primary Instructor of the course. 
 
There are four options for entering final grades in SIS. 
Option 1: Export grades from UVACollab to SIS 
Note: Grades are automatically approved in SIS once exported from UVACollab.
Option 2: Use the grade roster to manually enter & approve grades in SIS
Note: Once you approve the grade roster, no further edits can be made.
Option 3: Use the faculty center to manually enter & approve grades in SIS
Note: Once you approve the grade roster, no further edits can be made.
Option 4: Import final letter grades from a spreadsheet to UVACollab then SIS
Note: Once you approve the grade roster, no further edits can be made.

When are final grades due?
 

Our graduating students hope to receive their degrees at the end of May, and we need to receive all grades before we can confer them. Please plan to submit final grades as early as possible at the end of the term, ideally within 48 hours of the final exam for your class. 


How do I change a grade?
 

Once a grade roster has been approved, no further changes can be made. If you need to change a student’s grade, you will need to do so using the SIS Grade Change eform for each student. Instructions for accessing and completing the SIS Grade Change eform can be found on the ITS SIS For Instructor: Grading in SIS website.
 
If you are unable to complete the SIS Grade Change eform for any reason, please contact your school registrar for assistance with completing a manual grade change. School contact information is available on the University Registrar's website.
