Dear Graduate Student,

I write with another reminder to make your final decision regarding the grading option for one or more of your classes this semester.

The deadline to select the CR/GC/NC or traditional (A-F) grading options for one or more of your classes this semester is 11:59 p.m. EDT on Friday, April 30. Please confirm and make any grading option changes in SIS as there will be no opportunity to change your grading option after the deadline.

Please review the information for how each graduate school has defined CR/GC/NC.

Remember to confirm and make any necessary grading option changes in SIS before 11:59 p.m. EDT on Friday, April 30.

For steps on how to change and review the current grading options for your class in SIS, please click the link below. Be sure to follow steps 8-10 to confirm your choices are correctly recorded in SIS before the deadline.

More About CR/GC/NC in Graduate Classes

All Graduate Classes EXCEPT Those Offered by Engineering & Batten

  • Credit (CR)
Will be awarded if you meet the class’ requirements for credit (B- or higher). For Spring 2021, CR will meet all graduate degree requirements. CR will not affect your GPA.
  • General Credit (GC)
Will not be awarded.
  • No Credit (NC)
Will be awarded if you receive a grade below B-. This grade will not earn credit or meet any degree requirements. NC will not affect your GPA.


Graduate Classes Offered by Engineering, Batten & Commerce

  • Credit (CR)
Will be awarded if you meet the class’ requirements for credit (C or higher). For Spring 2021, CR will meet all  graduate degree requirements. CR will not affect your GPA.
  • General Credit (GC)
Will be awarded if you receive a passing grade below a C. GC will earn the credit hours associated with the course, but will not fulfill any graduate Engineering or Batten degree requirements, but will satisfy requirements for Commerce. GC will not affect your GPA.
  • No Credit (NC)
Will be awarded if you receive a grade of F. This grade will not earn credit or meet any requirements. NC will not affect your GPA.
