Dear Graduate Student,

I hope your semester is going smoothly and that you and your loved ones are safe and well. I continue to be inspired every day by the creativity, dedication, and resiliency of our students, faculty, and staff as we work through the challenges of the pandemic together.

I write to let you know when you can begin enrolling in classes for summer and fall 2021.

Summer 2021

The summer session schedule of classes will be available in SIS on March 26. To view a preliminary list of summer 2021 courses, you can visit the Office of Summer and Special Academic Programs website

Starting April 2, you can check SIS to see your enrollment appointment date/time for summer session and begin adding courses to your shopping cart. Graduate priority enrollment begins on April 8; all graduate students may begin enrolling in summer session courses on April 9. You will be able to make course enrollment changes, including selecting your grading option, until the session’s drop deadline. For more information about summer session drop deadlines, please visit the Office of Summer and Special Academic Programs website

Earlier this afternoon Provost Liz Magill announced that all 2021 Summer Sessions students will once again have the option to select the COVID CR/GC/NC grading option. Graduate programs that offered the COVID grading option (CR/GC/NC) in the spring 2021 semester will do so again this summer in addition to the standard grading options.

Fall 2021

As University leaders announced in this week’s update, we look forward to an in-person residential and educational experience next fall. Next week’s update will include more details about what to expect.

Beginning on March 26, fall classes will be visible in SIS. On May 7, you can check SIS to see your enrollment appointment date/time for the fall semester, use the SIS schedule builder, and add fall courses to your shopping cart.

Fall enrollment for graduate priority students will begin Sunday, May 16; all graduate students may begin enrolling on Monday, May 17. Once your enrollment appointment time starts, you will be able to make course enrollment changes until the Add deadline this fall.

If you have questions or concerns about summer or fall enrollment, please contact us at [email protected].

Thank you again for everything you are doing to keep yourself and our community safe and well.

Kind regards,

Laura F. Hawthorne
Associate Vice Provost and University Registrar
